3 of my favorite pics

I haven't gone through all the pictures from the trip to Cambodia yet and we ended up with over 650 pictures so it might take me a while. But here are 3 of my favorites (so far).

at Ta Prohm in front of one of the trees used in Tomb Raider (I'm going to have to see that movie now)

a monkey in front of Angkor Wat. I was really that close to him, no zoom used here - good thing I didn't have any food on me. We saw the monkeys jumping on people trying to feed them (DUH!)

Bayon temple, inside Angkor Thom

These temples were built around 900 years ago and were unknown until rediscovered in 1860 by a frenchie. Our tour guide said they are one of the 7 wonders of the world, but we weren't able to find Angkor Wat on any proper list, so I think he was saying it was a contender for the 7 wonders of the new world which includes the pyramids and taj mahal.

travel, travel, travel!

This will be a short post but just wanted to send a little update on our travels. We had a great time back in DC - still can't believe it had been four years since we were there -
but we had a great time catching up with people and reflecting on how the last four years has been much different than the first three years of our marriage, in a good way.

It is currently about 4:30a where I am (Diana) and 2:30p where Jason is, so it's been difficult to communicate but we are both having a good time doing neat things.
He has been exploring all of SoCal like a madman, staying on a YACHT (!!!) in Marina del Rey, and kickin' it around. He arrives back in Lawrence tonight. And I'm in Siem Reap, Cambodia with my brother. And loving it. Its quite hot here but you can easily get safe food, cheap and unique souveniers, and great service. There are a lot of other travelers but not many Americans so I'll have to take what I can get #stuffwhitepeoplelike.

Gotta go - just got our wake up call to wake up for the sunrise over Angkor Wat. Awesome!
